Wales’ only Royal Naval Reserve unit will be awarded the Freedom of the City and County of Swansea.


HMS Cambria will receive the honour at a special ceremony held in the Guildhall on Saturday 17 March 2018.



The Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA) for Wales has received an award in recognition of its support to youth work.




Cadets from all corners of the United Kingdom entertained a pack theatre on Saturday.

Over 300 primary school pupils were joined by a team of RAF personnel at the National Museum in Cardiff who helped them to build rocket cars, try computer coding, make a parachute to safely land an egg and take part in a hot air balloon challenge.



The Queen’s representative for the county has said Gwent is ‘lucky’ to have its Cadet organisations and paid tribute to their success.




The ‘selfless dedication’ of young Cadets and volunteers from Neath and Swansea has been recognised by the Queen’s representative for West Glamorgan.


Cadets from Clwyd & Gwynedd Army Cadet Force (ACF) have shone at this year’s Young Dragons First Aid Competitions, which are managed by St. John Ambulance Service.

Cadets are being welcomed to a weekend of engineering workshops by run by 160 Field Company of the 105 Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME).


Whilst Wales has witnessed its fair share of winter weather, Reserves from the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) have been under even colder conditions on the sub-zero slopes of Idrefjall, Sweden.
