RAF Air Cadets
The Air Cadets provides the perfect progression path to service in the RAF and it gives plenty of chances for young people to go flying in light aircrafts and gliders. You will gain invaluable life experience as you learn the importance of leadership, teamwork and citizenship along the way, benefitting both your civilian and service life.
The Air Cadets is still the largest operator of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, a qualification that will put you ahead of your non-cadet peers. Life in the Air Cadets also encourages learning through practical experience - shooting, adventure training, sports activities, model making, communications and much, much more . It also provides opportunities for cadets to find out about life in the Royal Air Force.
The Air Cadets are open to young people from ages 13 to 20 and in Wales is divided into three Wings covering North, West and South Wales. The activities of 60 squadrons rely on training support from the RAF, with accommodation maintained by RFCA for Wales.
