Twenty members of 275 (Nantyglo & Blaina) Squadron, pledged to cover the distance between Land’s End and John O’Groats, by walking, running or cycling, as part of a virtual challenge to raise money for the Royal British Legion.
The team of cadets and staff had a finish time of 12 weeks but completed the 1,083.8 miles in a mere 44 days!
Cadet Sergeant Porter, aged 17, came up with the idea as a way to bring the squadron together by working on a shared goal whilst helping to raise much needed funds for the Legion.
Wales Reserves and Cadets Charitable Incorporated Organisation provided the squadron with a £500 grant, which will allow all challenge members to receive a medal for their efforts when face-to-face activity resumes within the organisation.
Cadet Sgt Porter said, “Thank you for helping all of us at 275 Squadron achieve this great challenge as a team and for helping us to stay motivated throughout it.”
275 Squadron have currently raised £191 of their £500 goal. You can donate here www.justgiving.com/fundraising/275atc
